What are plate heat exchangers?
A heat exchanger transfers heat from one fluid to another with the intention of either cooling or heating one of them. A plate heat exchanger is a particular type that uses metal plates to transfer heat between two liquids. Typically, a series of pressed metal plates are aligned, to provide a greater surface area. The major advantage of this system is that due to the surface area, the speed of the temperature transfer is vastly increased.
Where are heat exchangers used?
Heat exchangers are used in a lot of applications from heating and air conditioning, refrigeration, chemical processing, power generation and food production. However, our range is particularly focused on the food production industry for everything from producing juices, yoghurts, milk, sauces and more.
What we supply
Powerpoint International supply a full range of tubular and plate UHT/HTST heat exchangers. Suitable for a wide variety of products with any holding time flow rate our customers require, our UHT heat exchanger range starts from the simple Mini Bench Top @ 10 litre per hour, the Econo-Lab series @ 20 litre per hour, through to the bigger machines at up to 200 litre per hour for pilot plant or process machines which start as small as 500 litre per hour. All are available with either tubular, plates or scraped surface heat exchangers. The small range up to 100 litre per hour does not require any steam, and very compact and is contained in a mobile stainless steel cabinet.

TUBE AND PLATE UHT/HTST
This is a combined machine with tubes and plates on one base, designed for easy changeover from one system to the other with the touch of a button. Simply select which system is to be used from the touch panel menu and the machine is ready to use.
There is no need to remove the plates and replace with tubes or vice versa, the divert valves will change the product and service flow through whichever system is chosen.
Individual tubes are utilized to give a wide variety of heating and cooling duties. The tubes are manufactured to our own specification and are profiled to give turbulence at the low flow rates to enable scale up to production.
No bond Gasketed plate heat exchangers to give a wide variety of heating and cooling duties. The plates are manufactured to our own specification and can be supplied as 1 complete plate pack or individual units for easy maintenance.
MINI PLATE UHT/HTST

Flow rates from 10 to 40 Ltr per hour (Higher available by request), with an highly accurate electromagnetic flowmeter as option. Various plate arrangements are included to allow treatment of difficult products.
This machine is completely mobile, and can be moved from one location to another very easily and located in a wet or dry area. The Computer interface with real time temperature recording.
SCRAPED SURFACE HEAT EXCHANGER
The scraped surface heat exchanger is ideal for use with products of varying viscositys, and can process products with particulates such as meat sauces without problems. This system is completely flexible and if required can also be used as a margarine and spreads processor. Jacketed feed hopper for control of product inlet temperature, with flow rates from 10 to 40 Ltr per hour (Higher available by request) and highly accurate electromagnetic or mass flowmeter as option. This machine is completely mobile, and is suitable for either wet or dry areas.
